Landlords: do you have your signed statement?

New Zealand's Healthy Homes Standards require all rental properties to meet insulation requirements. Standards took effect 1 July 2021, with a compliance deadline of 1 July 2025. Landlords must provide a signed insulation statement issued by certified installers — that's us.

Properties previously compliant under the 2016 Residential Tenancy Act may now require ceiling upgrades or new underfloor insulation. We'll inspect, advise, and (if needed) install — all by the same certified team.

Statement of Compliance
$75+GST

A signed insulation statement for landlords, issued by certified installers. Required under Healthy Homes Standards.

What is insulation and how does it work?
Insulation works by reducing the rate at which heat flows into or out of your home, helping to maintain a more consistent indoor temperature throughout the year. Bulk insulation traps still air pockets to reduce heat flow — proper installation without gaps or compression is essential for optimal performance.
Where should I insulate?
To get the most benefit from insulation, you should insulate the ceiling, walls, and underfloor — these are the main areas where heat is lost or gained. Ceiling insulation is particularly important, and retrofits can enhance efficiency without major disruption.
What are R-values?
R-values measure the effectiveness of insulation in resisting heat flow. The higher the R-value, the better the material's ability to prevent heat from passing through. Selection depends on climate, area being insulated, and energy efficiency goals.
How long will the installation take?
Installation can take anywhere from a few hours to a couple of days depending on home size, insulation type, and whether it's new construction or retrofit work. Specific timelines require professional assessment — we'll give you a clear estimate when we quote.
Could I install it myself?
DIY installation is possible but labour-intensive and challenging without experience. Poor installation can reduce the effectiveness of the insulation, while professional installation ensures optimal performance — and is required if you need a signed Healthy Homes statement.
